"These products are just a glimpse into the future of what is possible with DLP projection technology."

Multimedia Mini Projection Products

These products sport five to six times the brightness levels of models introduced just two years ago. – all in the palm of your hand. The market for mini projectors that weigh in at under one pound is forecasted to grow to more than 1M units by 2010, according to the global research firm Pacific Media Group (PMA).

Instant theater products uniquely provide the integration of projection, audio and DVD media players into a single portable unit. According to PMA, Instant Theater products represented 18% of the consumer projection market in their first full year. They are expected to see solid growth in the next several years.

Pico–Projection Products
Building upon announcements made during 2007, Sypro and Young Optics, will privately show manufacturing prototypes of their pico–projection products powered by DLP technology. DLP pico–projectors, either as standalone products or as integrated modules in contemporary mobile devices, will provide consumers and business professionals with the flexibility to share video and graphic content in a bigger way.

"We see increased opportunity and an abundance of applications that can be created with these devices. With help from DLP, Young Optics is able to deliver a mobile product design to enable the global market in 2008," said Claude Hsu, President, Young Optics.

"We are excited about the possibilities enabled by the DLP pico–projection innovation and believe it will result in new revenue opportunities in the near future," said Hans–Joachim StÖhr, Director of Business Development and Sales, Sypro Optics GmbH.

Gaming Projection Products
At this year’s CES BenQ, Meiloon, Ostendo and DreamArcade will showcase a variety of prototypes that take displays for gaming to a new level of quality and immersion in the experience. According to Beacon Technology Partners research, at least 60% of gamers prefer to game using large displays, generally over four–feet in diagonal, citing that the big picture experience as a key to immersion into the game. The big picture capabilities coupled with the inherent speed and image quality advantages of DLP technology makes it the clear choice for the most realistic experience that gaming enthusiasts demand.
