More than 30,000 educators – reaching approximately 3.6 million students – have registered for the classroom “getting started” kit since the “We All Use Math Every Day” program launched in September 2005. Each week, thousands of supporters download the activities from www.cbs.com/numb3rs/ti.

The award-winning program was comprised of multiple components to build awareness and adoption among teachers, including “NUMB3RS” cast events at teacher conferences, a nationwide sweepstakes for a teacher to win a walk-on role on the show, weekly e-mail updates, a Web cast with a top teacher trade magazine and ongoing media relations efforts with trade and lifestyle publications.

Quality Education Data (QED), a Scholastic company and leading provider of integrated marketing services for the pre-K through higher education markets, began the annual awards program three years ago. The purpose of the awards program is to acknowledge the outstanding contributions of marketing leaders in the education industry. No other awards program recognizes education marketing professionals exclusively.

The Pacesetter Award recognizes the individual who has shown the most innovation, knowledge, vision, and leadership in the development of an organization's marketing campaigns in the past year. Beheler was selected according to several criteria:

  • delivered measurable results her marketing efforts toward the organization’s objectives
  • implemented unique, creative techniques to reach the intended audience with the intended message
  • demonstrated leadership in developing and executing the marketing efforts of the organization.
  • "The award winners have surpassed the expectations of their colleagues, pushed the boundaries of marketing thought, and delivered exemplary marketing results," said Andy Lacy, general manager of QED. "Their hard work and exceptional achievements define best practices in education marketing as they've successfully communicated how their organization's products and services meet the needs of educators and students."
