Oct. 8, 1997 - National Semiconductor Corporation® (NSM:NYSE) today announced changes in the responsibilities of its executive staff.

The company named Executive Vice President Patrick J. Brockett to head its Analog Product Group, Senior Vice President Robert M. Penn to head its Communications and Consumer Group, Senior Vice President Richard L. Sanquini to head its Personal Systems Group, and Senior Vice President Michael Bereziuk to head its Worldwide Marketing and Sales Group. The company said it will shortly name an executive to head its Core Technology Group.

"We have an extremely strong executive team," said Halla, "and these rotations will enrich it further, preparing them for the continuing growth I believe lies ahead as National executes its strategy."
