Nov 16, 1998

November 16, 1998 - Cyrix? Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of National Semiconductor?, announced today that the MediaGX? processor will be used in Boundless Technologies' new Capio?, a fast, easy, affordable Windows?-based terminal. Boundless Technologies, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Boundless Corporation (NASDAQ: BDLS), is the largest U.S. manufacturer of text and Windows?-based terminals and other thin-client solutions.

The MediaGX? processor helps to enable a thin client solution with PC compatibility while offering lower total cost-of-ownership and better manageability than networked PCs. With Capio providing full 32-bit Windows support when compared to text terminals, it will alleviate many of the concerns faced by IT managers today. The platform's integrated architecture enabled Boundless to eliminate many separate system components found in older style motherboards, resulting in a more efficient system. The MediaGX processor also provides significant cost-savings and enables Boundless to bring Capio to market quickly at pace-setting price levels.

"Boundless Technologies is a leading player in the growing market for Windows-based terminals," said Stan Swearingen, vice president of marketing for Cyrix. "The MediaGX solution enables Boundless to offer their customers a product that provides compatibility with the Windows environment while significantly reducing their costs of ownership, enabling enhanced manageability, security and flexibility."

"Capio is the fast, easy and affordable Windows-based terminal that provides the best set of features and value on the market," said Mike Stebel, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Boundless Technologies. "By using the MediaGX? processor in the new Capio, we are able to offer a cost-effective, easy to use and secure Windows-based terminal that actually provides a step up in performance as well."
