August 16, 2004 - Hispanic Engineer & IT Magazine announced that Si Gutierrez, vice president, Central Planning and Production Control for National Semiconductor Corporation (NYSE:NSM) has been selected as one of the magazine’s 50 Most Important Hispanics in Technology and Business for 2004.

Gutierrez joined National Semiconductor in 1998 as Vice President of Central Planning and Production Control.  He is responsible for the strategic direction of National’s supply chain planning.  He is also responsible for revenue planning and execution, establishing inventory and production plans for the company.  His responsibilities include implementing systems to ensure optimum customer service and productivity of National’s global manufacturing facilities.

Before joining National, Gutierrez was director of worldwide planning at LSI Logic Corporation. Prior to that, he held various management positions at Headland Technology in purchasing, logistics, factory planning, customer service, and customer marketing.

In April 2003, Gutierrez and his group at National developed a partnership with InnVision, a leading provider of services and housing to at-risk and homeless families and individuals in Silicon Valley.  Since that time they have provided more than $25,000 in financial and in-kind donations to the organization.  In addition, Gutierrez led a team of 36 National CTMG employees that donated 180 hours to renovate InnVision's Georgia Travis Center for homeless women and children.

Gutierrez has also volunteered his time as a mentor in a number of areas.  He has served as a Right Start mentor, where he provided guidance and support to at-risk freshmen in a Silicon Valley high school. In addition, he is a mentor for Women Unlimited’s nationally acclaimed leadership development programs.  In this role, he has coached and mentored emerging women leaders, assisting them in finding the tools, knowledge and opportunities they need to enhance their leadership capabilities and effectiveness.

Gutierrez holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from San Jose State University.
