National Semiconductor's High-Speed, 30V Buffer Amplifier Expands Portfolio for Industrial, Test and Measurement Applications

Jun 7, 2006

June 7, 2006 – National Semiconductor Corporation (NYSE:NSM) today introduced a high-speed, 30V buffer amplifier for industrial, medical, and test and measurement applications.

The LMH6321 unity-gain buffer delivers 300 mA of continuous output current and is stable under any capacitive load when driven by a 50-Ohm source. It operates with a 30V supply voltage, providing the maximum possible dynamic range at the output. This wide dynamic range is important for applications requiring a large output swing, such as semiconductor automatic test equipment.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Small signal bandwidth of 110 MHz while driving a 50-Ohm load
  • Continuously adjustable current limit from 10 mA to 300 mA with +/- 5 mA and +/- 5 percent accuracy provides extremely fine control of current settings
  • 1800 V/us slew rate
  • Thermal shutdown protection to prevent overheating
  • Error flag to signal a fault condition
  • Thermally enhanced TO-263 and PSOP-8 packages to help with heat dissipation
  • Guaranteed performance from -40 degrees Celsius to 125 degrees Celsius
