National Semiconductor Expands LMH Amplifier Portfolio with 250 MHz CMOS Operational Amplifier

Aug 17, 2006

August 17, 2006 - National Semiconductor Corporation (NYSE:NSM) today expanded its LMH® family of high-speed amplifiers into new low-voltage, high-speed consumer and industrial applications with the introduction of the LMH6601, a high-speed, 2.4V CMOS amplifier.

The LMH6601 is a tiny, 250 MHz, high input impedance operational amplifier with rail-to-rail outputs and a wide supply operating range from 2.4V to 5.5V.  The guaranteed 100 mA of minimum output current, maximum input bias of 50 picoamps (pA) and low current noise of 50 fA/sqrtHz make the LMH6601 well-suited for consumer and industrial applications such as transimpedance amplifiers, line drivers and high-impedance buffers.

Key Features and Benefits of the LMH6601

  • Small signal bandwidth of 250 MHz (gain = 1)
  • Minimum 100 mA of output current (typical 150 mA) for high drive capability
  • Maximum input bias current: 50 pA (typical 5 pA) for reduced output error
  • High input impedance that is greater than 100 Giga-Ohms
  • 260 V/us slew rate
