Hybrid DVR from Siemens based on TI DM648 provides highest quality real-time video recording and highly detailed playback

Sep 17, 2009

ZUG, Switzerland, Sept. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- As more video surveillance customers demand better recording performance and a higher integration of legacy camera products, Siemens Building Technologies announces the new SISTORE MX 3G™, a real-time hybrid digital video recording (DVR) device based on the TMS320DM648 digital media processor from Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN). With the ability to support both analog and Internet protocol (IP) systems, the SISTORE MX 3G provides eight times the performance over previous generation solutions allowing customers to benefit from improved image quality. Additionally, by being able to track more images per second, this solution allows for a more detailed playback of recorded data by being able to follow fast-pace motion better. Ideally suited for security applications needed in banking and financial institutions, shopping centers, factories, hospitals, government and railway installations, this real-time hybrid DVR offers the best combination of price and performance in its class. This solution records at 4CIF resolution, provides up to 500 IPS (images per second) total recording performance and is the most energy efficient device of its class consuming only 36 watts per terabyte. This hybrid DVR provides a display subsystem with the capability to support dual digital monitors, as well as four spot-monitor outputs. The SISTORE MX 3G also integrates two built in Gigabit Ethernet ports for increased network storage support, remote monitoring and management, as well as advanced software functionality including the ability to integrate Siemens SiPass™ Access Control System for interoperable security.
