TI introduces 3-channel power management unit for embedded camera modules

Tiny power management unit with two DC/DC converters and one LDO comes in a 2-mm x 2-mm WCSP package

DALLAS (June 17, 2010) –Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) introduced today the TPS657051, a small power management unit that supports portable consumer electronics and space-limited applications, such as webcams or heat- or noise-sensitive embedded camera modules. Available in a 2-mm x 2-mm WCSP package, the device features two 400-mA step-down converters, a 200-mA low dropout linear regulator (LDO), and additional supporting functions. The TPS657051 is available now in a 16-ball, WCSP package and is priced at $1.20 in quantities of 1,000. Samples and the TPS657051EVM-522 evaluation module are available today.
