Texas Instruments names Jack Olson vice president and general manager of DC Solutions in Power Management

DALLAS (March 16, 2011) - Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE:TXN) today announced that Jack Olson, general manager of DC Solutions in the company's Power Management business unit, has been elected a vice president of the company. Olson leads the product development, revenue growth and profit of the DC Solutions group. This TI business unit consists of four product lines developing innovative point-of-load step-down and step-up power management converters for computing, consumer, communications and industrial markets.

"Jack is a proven leader at Texas Instruments," said Sami Kiriaki, senior vice president, Power Management. "His expertise in power management electronics allows his team to quickly deliver ground-breaking products for customers and keep TI at the forefront of power innovation."

Olson joined TI in 2002 and has held a number of positions with the company, including general manager of Linear Power and marketing manager of System Power Management. As the general manager for the DC Solutions business unit, Jack oversees the product development of DC/DC converters for a variety of uses as well as monitor the solution's growth and profit.

Olson earned a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a Master of Business Administration from Arizona State University.
